I heard that the NAGNFC (North American Gary Numan Fan Club) is hosting a
contest for the prestigious award of "2001 Numanoid of the Year".
I would like to nominate my friend Tamatha, the first time I met her she asked if I knew who Gary Numan was, she's obsessed with Numan music, she plays it all the time - even at work. She has Numan things all over the place! shes even got an old concert ticket on her wall and she went out and got an Exile tattoo... she would be so thrilled to get this award...

can't think of anyone else that is well deserving of this award then her.
Tamatha has be a long time fan of Gary Numan. She is totally obsessed with

Tamatha is a total Numan freak!
She went so far as to have herself permanently modified with an Exile
tattoo. She has traveled all over North America to see him, enduring
hell just to get to a concert. On one occasion, I witnessed she had to
put up with the stupidest cab driver in Toronto, who tried to kill us by
driving in front of a trolley car, changing lanes on the wrong side of
the road, getting stuck in a traffic jam when the place we wanted to go
to was just down the hill. And then not killing him when he tried to
charge us over $60 for a $20 ride. I think the only reason why she
didn't kill him is because answering the polices questions would have
kept her from the concert. Standing outside in the cold damp spring
Toronto air until 2 am in the morning so she could say Hi to him and get
him to sign her CD. Looking all over Toronto ( on foot I might add ) to
find every last bit of something about Gary Numan. But I think the best
way Tamatha has shown her dedication to Gary Numan is to not keep him to
herself, she will share her love for him at any and ever occasion.
2001 Numanoid of the Year should be Tamatha, I do not know anyone who is
as dedicated to an artist as she is to Numan.

albums (and between you and me a few bootlegs). She has an "Exile" tattoo to
forever carry around AND show off to everyone. She has also flown to Toronto
on a couple of occasions to see him in concert as well I believe she is
planning a trip to Europe this year or next to go and see him.
Now I ask you is not a fanatic of this prestigious award or not. Please do not
pass this person by as the true 2001 Numanoid of the year!!!

In April, 2002 she is flying to England to see him perform in Manchester and
London.

Tamatha encouraged a local indy distro to create a business proposal to Gary,
so she could help out too.

Thanks to Tamatha, I know the lyrics to most of Exile and Pure, instead of
just "Cars".
Suffice
to say, Tamatha Mitchell is a genuine hot blooded Numan Fan and regardless of
acquiring such a title, she truly is the Numanoid of ANY year.

Can I nominate myself? Yes? Excellent good to hear it. I hereby quite
formally nominate myself (Tamatha Mitchell) as the 2001 Numanoid of the
Year.
Why? Yes indeed, why should I be named Numanoid of the Year? Hmmm... well if
circumstance stood for reason I'd have a million excuses why I should
receive this infamous title. However, the main reason I feel compelled to
nominate myself is due to the passion and compassion I have portrayed this
past year.
Passion: I've always been passionate about music, and obviously more so when
it comes to Numan. In this past year I've committed myself to working hard
on a Numan Fan site (http:www.i-dream-of-wires.org) as well as assisting
with the creating of a Numan covers CD. Both of these projects have been
time consuming for certain, yet the time is irrelevant as Numan's music just
spurs me on to continue utilizing my creative talents.
Compassion: Knowing full well the impact Gary's music has had on me, I've
been compelled to share his music with others less fortunate than myself for
whatever reason. I've purchased more Exile CD's than I have fingers & toes.
I have sent Numan's music to such places as New Zealand, New York, South
Carolina, Mexico, Texas, Ontario, Nova Scotia and England (imagine?!?!?
Yes.... even to his homeland). OK so maybe it's compassion, AND a little bit
of overzealous Nu-marketing on my part, nevertheless I am always willing to
do my part in the Nu scheme of things.
Thanks for your time in discovering ME as your 2001 Numanoid of the Year.

I nominate Tamatha Mitchell for Numanoid of the Year. I simply do not know
anyone who is as enthusiastic and passionate about the man and his music.
Numan is like a religion to her, and her devotion is as intense as she is.
She's got an Exile tattoo, she's been co-designing the I Dream of Wires
site, she's taken trips specifically to see Numan shows. The reasons to
nominate her are legion. The most significant personal reason I think she
should get it is that she's basically shanghaied me into doing a collection
of Numan covers with her. There was simply
no room for "no". She doesn't just generate converts, she generates slaves.

I would like to nominate Tamatha Mitchell for this award. Tamatha is an
extreme fan of Gary Numan and his music. There are not many people who
would travel all the way from Calgary to Toronto to see someone in concert
(in fact, I don't know anyone else who would), but Tamatha did this to see
Gary Numan. Anyone who knows Tamatha, knows how much she likes Gary Numan
and his music, she is a dedicated fan and tells anyone she knows about him.
She knows everything about his music and loves to talk about it. I can't
adequately describe how obsessed with his music she is, but I guarantee she
is his biggest fan. She even went and got an Exile tattoo!
Please consider this nomination when choosing the 2001 Numanoid of the Year
- I guarantee she is most deserving of this award.

As I myself have been witness to her dedication while I was at the concert in Toronto I can say without any reservation that she IS indeed worse than me! As a fan myself for over 20 years myself I simply must say that she surpasses anyone I know for true dedication to promoting the enjoyment of Gary Numan's music.
I only wore out 2 Telekon records, - she's wore out 4 Exile CD's!!!!!
Subsequent to the concert I have gotten to know Tamatha personally and not only is she one of the most dedicated fans I have ever met, she is also one of the nicest people I know :)
So, without even thinking my nomination is for Tamatha Mitchell - A *TRUE* Dominion Dame!

Why? The reasons are numerous:
-She consistently displays a never wavering dedication to promoting Gary in positive ways.
-I know it to be true that she has many times given Gary CDs to prospective fans that she herself paid for!
-Not too mention the fact that she is my right hand (and sometimes left hand as well) lady in creating I Dream Of Wires (www.i-dream-of-wires.org)
And of course for all the other reasons people have already mentioned.
I could go on and on, but I prefer to keep it short and sweet.

year... She is the first one that turned me on to Numan besides knowing of course about his 80`s hit back then. She got me Exile which I have listened too a ton ! Later I went out to pick up Pure which was very good as well ! From there on out I have tried to keep up with anything he releases including music from others like Fear Factory ! To sum it all up I`m always looking for new worth while music and she help me hit the nail on the head with Gary !Purple Critter
